Fr. Paul Nguyễn Luật Khoa, OFM

Fr. Paul Nguyễn Luật Khoa, OFM, is one of the Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province, New York. He came from a Catholic family with thirteen children originated from Nha Trang, Viet Nam. His vocation was joined with other four siblings, who are Franciscan and Redemptorist priests, and two nuns of Franciscan Missionary of Mary and the Disciples of the Divine Master.

He left Viet Nam as one of the boat people and lived as a refugee in Palawan, Philippines before immigrated to New Orleans, and later, joined with Franciscan friars. He was ordained in New Jersey in 1995 and served in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., New York, South Carolina, and Ohio. 

His philosophical, formation, and theological training is grounded at Washington Theological Union, and the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.  

He translated more than sixteen theological books into Vietnamese whose authors are Karl Rahner, Joseph Ratzinger, Rudolf Schnakenberg, etc., He served as a retreat master, formator, teacher as well as spiritual director for religious formation houses and seminaries.

Currently, he teaches spirituality, serves as a spiritual director, and the Director of Field Education at St. Patrick’s Seminary and University, Menlo Park, CA.
